About Grace Hall
For more than a century, Grace Hall has been part of the story of Darien.
Established as Grace Baptist Church in 1896, the congregation began worshiping in the current sanctuary in 1915. With its Gothic Revival architecture, pointed-arch stained-glass windows, timber construction, and distinctive barrel-vaulted ceiling, the building became one of Darien’s most recognizable landmarks.
After the congregation dispersed, the building eventually stood vacant and fell into disrepair. In 2022, a massive oak tree fell onto the building, causing significant damage and accelerating its deterioration. In 2024, Grace Hall was named one of Georgia’s Places in Peril.
Grace Baptist Church, now Grace Hall Darien, is beginning a new chapter.
The building is being restored and reimagined as a community gathering space and regional music venue—a place for concerts, weddings, nonprofit events, lectures, youth workshops, heritage programs, and the everyday gatherings that bring people together.

Restoring Grace Hall as a community venue means preserving an important piece of Darien’s history while giving people a reason to fill its rooms again.
